The BWF-CERTIFIRE Fire Door and Doorset Scheme was established by a group of Prime Fire Door Manufacturers aiming to increase the standard of fire doors across the supply chain, the Scheme has now expanded to include not just the market leaders in fire door manufacturing, but also in converting fire doors, ironmongery, intumescent seals and glazing systems, and, more recently, merchants and installers.
The Scheme is operated and managed by the British Woodworking Federation (BWF) , and was established as a partnership, combining the membership, lobbying and promotion skills of the BWF with the technical and certification skills of Warrington Certifire Ltd.
The members have always been the Scheme's managers, influencing strategic direction and committing themselves to a rigorous certification programme requiring a considerable investment in time and money. This commitment to quality will ensure this lifesaving product achieves its aim of protecting lives and property.
With over 200 members, the BWF-CERTIFIRE Fire Door & Doorsets Scheme now represents over 75% of the fire doors sold in the UK. With members ranging from 2 to over 500 employees, the Scheme caters for the needs of all companies for promotion, guidance and advice.
